Rifat murder: Srabon denied bail

BARHGUNA: A Barguna court rejected the bail petition of Aryan Srabon, one of the accused in the case filed after Rifat Sharif had been hacked to death in broad daylight in front of Barguna government college gate.

Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Yasin Arafat on Wednesday (July 24) passed the order in this case.

Earlier, police arrested Srabon for his alleged involvement in the murder case.

Later on July 18, after completion of two phases remand, he gave confessional statement before the Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate in the Rifat murder case.

Then, magistrate Md Sirajul Islam Gazi sent him to jail.

Earlier on July 13, the court has put Aryan Srabon, named in the murder case, on a five-day remand in the murder case and it on Jul 7 put him on a five-day remand.

22-year-old Rifat Sharif from Barguna sadar upazila was allegedly hacked indiscriminately by his wife Minni's alleged former husband Nayan Bond and aides in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College on June 26.

A shocking video of the brutal attack went viral on the social media, triggering widespread outrage and demands for justice.
