BARGUNA: A court here on Monday (July 22) rejected a plea of sensational Rifat Sharif murder case witness-turned-accused Ayesha Siddiqa Minni that sought cancellation of her statement given earlier.
At the same time, the court rejected another plea stating Minni is ailing and deprived of proper treatment in custody.
Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Md Sirajul Islam rejected the pleas, in the morning.
"The plea for canceling Minni's statement should be accompanied necessary papers from the jailor. Besides, police will take step about Minni's treatment," he said.
Minni's lawyer and Barguna District Bar Association Secretary General Advocate Mahbubul Bari Aslam told Banglanews the pleas were filed stating that police forcefully took deposition from Minni and she isn't getting proper treatment despite severe illness.
Minni was sent to jail on Friday (July 19) after she had confessed to her involvement in killing her husband Rifat Sharif in Barguna sadar upazila.
She made the confession before the same court on the second day of her five-day remand.
The court then ordered her to land in jail.
