Mag 5.9 quake rocks Arunachal, tremors felt in Sylhet Image shows epicenter of the earthquake

DHAKA: Earthquake measuring 5.9 Richter scale rattled Northeast around 3:22pm on Friday (July 19). 

The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 10 km at East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh, Indian Met Office website stated.

According to reports, the tremors were felt in Guwahati, Assam and Northeast parts of Bangladesh including Sylhet.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department official Nizam Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter.

Some residents of Dhaka took to social media claiming to have felt the tremor.

No casualties were reported immediately.
