DHAKA: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Fareast Islami Multi Cooperative Society Ltd (FICL) Chairman also proprietor Shamim Kabir in a case over embezzling Tk 300 crore.
He was arrested Monday (July 15) night, CID Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sharmin Jahan told Banglanews.
Shamim Kabir, an accused in 28 cases, was absconding for around four years.
He is accused of embezzling minimum Tk 300 crore, said the ASP.
Details will be informed at a press briefing later in the day, at Malibagh office of CID, added Sharmin.
