DHAKA: A partial lunar eclipse, where the full moon passes through the shadow of the Earth, will occur on July 16-17 with a total duration of five hours, 34 minutes.

The eclipse will be visible in Bangladesh on July 17 (Wednesday).

Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a press release Monday (July 15).

Apart from Bangladesh, the partial lunar eclipse is going to be visible in most regions of Asia and Europe, Africa, Australia, and South America.

In Bangladesh, the penumbral lunar eclipse will start from 12:42:12am Wednesday. It will make transition into a partial lunar eclipse and will reach maximum eclipse at 3:30:48am, before ending at 6:19:24am.

People in Bangladesh will be able to witness the partial lunar eclipse if the sky remains clear, said the ISPR release.
