DHAKA: 17 Bangladeshi migrants rescued from Tunisian coast are set to return home on Friday (June 21).
According to ministry of foreign affairs, a flight of Qatar Airways, carrying the migrants, will land at Dhaka airport in the evening.
64 Bangladeshi migrants were rescued from Tunisian frontier when they became stranded in the Mediterranean Sea on May 31.
They were crossing from Libyan coast to Europe via Mediterranean Sea. Tunisia or any countries of Europe refused to accept these migrants.
Bangladesh Embassy in Libya paved the way for their return after consulting with Tunisian Government, the Red Crescent Society, Human Rights Organization and IOM.
Out of 64 migrants, 17 migrants are coming home in first phase while the rest will return in phases.
