KERANIGANJ (DHAKA):  An unidentified body of an old woman was recovered from the cabin of a launch at Sadarghat Launch Terminal on Monday (June 17).

The 60-year-old woman was found at cabin no-309-on the 3rd floor-of MV Mitali-7, which was running on Dhaka-Chandpur route. Police broke into her cabin and found her with scarf wrapped around her neck, Sreebash Gain, sub-inspector of South Keraniganj Police Station, told Banglanews

Prima facie, she was strangled to death. She had kamiz and salwar on her. Dead body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College hospital morgue, SI also told Banglanews.

On Sunday night (June 16), a man by the name of Jahangir booked this cabin to go to Dhaka. Later, he got off the launch locking the door without informing authorities, SI added.

A case will be filed with South Keraniganj Police Station, SI further added.
