DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged for registration of all online news portals.

Sheikh Hasina made the call while addressing the post-budget press briefing at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Friday afternoon (June 14).

The premier briefed journalists about the budget as Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is sick.

In response to a written question from a journalist working for an online news portal, the premier asked if this news portal was registered or not. She said online portals can not run without registration.

Sheikh Hasina said, “News portals have been opened on an unregulated basis. They have to register. Register first, then I’ll give you answer.”
