Missing EU student’s body found at septic tank

GAZIPUR: Police recovered the body of a university student, who went missin since May 12, from a septic tank in Kamarjuri area in Gazipur City Corporation on Thursday (May 23) morning.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain Jisan, 24, son pf Sabbir Hossian, a resident of Kathura area in Gachha police station of GCC, last year student of Civil Engineering Department of European University of Bangladesh. 

Police and the victim's family said that Jisan went out of home in Kathura area of Gazipur by motorcycle on May 12. Since then, he did not return home. 

On May 16, his father filed a general diary (GD) with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in Dhaka.

Later, using the information technology, police from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested Hasibul Islam, a grocery businessman of Kamarjuri area of Gazipur. 

Later, according to his information, Jisan’s body was recovered from a septic tank in a house in Kamarjuri area on Thursday morning. Victim’s motorcycle and mobile phone were also recovered from Hasibul's shop.

Ismail Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Gachha Police Station told Banglanews that the body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
