DHAKA: Fifteen Bangladeshi migrants, who survived after a boat carrying them capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Tunisia, returned home on Tuesday (May 21).
Bangladesh Embassy in Libya confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
A Turkish Airlines flight, carrying the 15 Bangladeshi people, arrived in Dhaka from Tunisia early in the morning.
They were brought back to the country with assistance from the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Earlier on May 9, more than 60 migrants have died after their boat capsized in the Mediterranean off the coast of Tunisia. Most of them were Bangladeshis.
Later, Tunisia coast guard rescued 16 migrants, including 14 Bangladeshis from sea.
They had been kept in Tunisia's Zarzis town. Bangladeshis are among the rests of missing migrants in the boat capsize.
