Banded krait rescued from Moulvibazar

MOULVIBAZAR: A large size of Banded krait was recovered from the Bodyabhumi located at a tea garden near to Sreemangal town on Monday (May 20) night.

Ranju Kahar, a resident of a tea garden, was afraid to see the snake and informed Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation of Sreemangal.

After that, Foundation director Sajal Deb came to spot and rescued the snake.

Sajal Deb, Director of Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation, told Banglanews that the snake is currently weak physically. When the snake is cured, it will be released in the required places after consultation with senior officials of Moulvibazar wildlife department.

The banded krait is a species of elapid snake found on the Indian Subcontinent and in Southeast Asia. It is one of the largest kraits, with a maximum length up to 2.1 m. It’s scientific name is Bungarus fasciatus.
