CHUADANGA: Police conducted a drive and arrested 13 persons from an under-construction building in Shantipara area of Chuadanga town Sunday (May 19) night.
The arrestees were accused in separate cases filed on various charges including murder, extortion business and robbery.
Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jihad Fakrul Alam Khan told Banglanews that the drive was carried out on tip-off that some 10-15 suspects were staying in the under-construction building.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kalimullah led the drive.
Of the arrestees, Akash is the prime accused in businessman Golam murder case. Ramim, Titu and Badol-- three other arrestees, are listed terrorists and accused in robbery and extortion cases. The rest nine are accused in drug abuse cases, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Mahbubur Rahman.
The arrestees were secretly holding a meeting to carry out terror activity or robbery in the area. They will be interrogated, added the SP.
