DHAKA: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said as many as 1,100 BRTC buses have been readied to run in Eid special service. 

He made the disclosure while talking to reporters at the conference room of his office at the secretariat Sunday (May 19).

Meanwhile, 480 trucks and 179 buses arrived in Dhaka under an Indian loan programme, he said.

Apart from running 1,100 BRTC buses, 50 buses will be kept in standby mode for emergency use, added the minister. 

Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) Secretary Md Nazrul Islam, Road and Highways Department (RHD) Chief Engineer Ibne Alam Hasan, BRTA Chairman Md Moshiar Rahman and BRTC Chairman Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan, among others, were present.
