DHAKA:  Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said none but professional drivers can run vehicles during Eid al-Fitr. 

The minister said, “Police patrol will be continued on the highway so that unprofessional drivers can not drive vehicles. Upon suspicion, license will be checked after pulling the vehicle over.”

The minister held a meeting on law and order situation on occasion of Eid al-Fitr at the ministry on Sunday (May 19).

Assuring of tightened security measures all over the country including Dhaka city, the minister said various cities will come under ‘block raid.’ There will be check posts at Dhaka’s entry and exit gates. 

This year will witness less hassle because of special trains and finish of construction work on road and highways, he said.

The minister also warned of punishment for extra passengers of launch and additional fare of launch, bus and train.
