DHAKA: Media Employees Act and Broadcast Act-- two proposed laws to ensure security of media workers, will be placed in the upcoming session of Jatiya Sangsad.

Information Minister Hasan Mahmud confirmed the matter Tuesday (April 23). 

Protection of the journalists including job security will be ensured once the Media Employees Act is passed, he said. 

The minister revealed the update during a meeting with the leaders of Broadcast Journalist Center, at the information ministry of the secretariat.
 
"We can provide legal protection against the problems you are talking about now, when these two laws will come into effect. It's very urgent," Hasan Mahmud told them.
