SIRAJGANJ: A pedestrian was killed as a covered van overturned on Bangabandhu Bridge West Link Highway in Salonga area of Sirajganj Tuesday (April 23).

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim Mondal, 40, a resident of Alokdia area.

The accident happened around 9:30am.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdul Kader Jilani confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

A North Bengal bound covered van overturned after losing control and fell into a ditch after crushing Abdur Rahim while he was crossing the road in front of Fuljore Degree College.

Police seized the covered van but its driver fled the scene.

The body will be delivered to the deceased's family, said the OC.
