HABIGANJ: Police recovered the decomposed body of a college student from a water body in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj Monday (April 22) afternoon.

Farzana Akter, a female friend of the deceased and her father Monju Mia were detained over the incident.   

Habiganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Ullah confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Deceased Ujjwal Mia, 22, studied at Brindaban Govt College in Habiganj.

As per initial investigation, Ujjwal was killed and buried secretly two months ago. Afterwards, the body was thrown in Medi Bil (water body), said Lakhai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Emran Hossain.

Ujjwal's family filed a General Diary (GD) with Lakhai Police Station on February 26. 

Details will be disclosed at a press briefing later, said the OC.
