DHAKA: Two construction workers died of electrocution at an under-construction building in Siddweshwari area in the capital city early on Tuesday (March 26). 

The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman, 36, hailed from Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur and Abul Bashar, 52, of Noakhali upazila. Both of them resided with family at East Ulon in city’s Rampura area.

Kazi Mainul Islam, officer in charge of Ramna Police Station, told Banglanews that the workers were digging soil with Veku machine for the under-construction building near Monowara Hospital around 2:00am. At one stage, two of them got electrocuted from the machine, leaving the duo injured.

Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead. 

Being informed, police recovered the bodies of the duo and sent them to morgue for autopsy.
