SUNAMGANJ: Police arrested a helper of a bus from where Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) student Wasim Abbas was pushed off to death.

Police, on tip-off, carried out a drive and nabbed Masuk Ali, 40, from his in-laws’ residence in Singchapir village under Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj, around 2am Sunday (March 24).

Masuk Ali is son of one Daulot Ali in Teghoria area of Sunamganj town.

He was sent to police custody in Moulvibazar’s Sherpur following an interrogation.

Sunamganj District Superintendent of Police (SP) Barkatullah Khan confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Wasim Abbas, 21, was reportedly run over by a bus of Udar Paribahan after pushing off the same moving vehicle in Sherpur Muktijoddha Chattar area of Moulvibazara on Sylhet-Dhaka Highway Saturday (March 23) afternoon.

Son of one Mahbub Ghuri in Rudrogram area of Habiganj, Wasim was a Masters student at SAU.
