DHAKA: Country’s highest circulated Bangla daily Bangladesh Pratidin awarded five noted personalities for their significant contributions to cultural arenas of the nation.

The recipients were handed over the awards at a graceful ceremony marking 9th anniversary of Bangladesh Pratidin, at Noboratri Hall of International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Saturday (March 23).

The recipients are—Poet Shamsur Rahman (posthumous), singer Sabina Yasmin, actresses Kabori Sarwar, Bobita and cultural personality Hanif Sanket. 

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan handed over the awards.

Election Commissioner (EC) Mahbub Talukder, Information Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon, BNP Standing Committee member Dr Moyeen Khan, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Relations Officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhatyacharya, among others, were present.

A team of Banglanews24.com led by its Editor Jewel Mazhar and Output Editor SM Salahuddin greeted Bangladesh Pratidin on occasion of stepping into 10th year.

On March 14, Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan launched the anniversary program of Bangladesh Pratidin at its office in EWMGL complex in Bashundhara Residential Area.
