DHAKA: As many as 48 gold bars were found abandoned in a trash bin of a washroom of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Market price of the bars was estimated Tk 7,86,90,000. 

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, on its Facebook page, disclosed the matter.

The gold bars, wrapped with white scotch tape, were recovered from nine packets kept in the bin of a male washroom besides no.7 boarding bridge of the airport, said the post.

The bars weighed 15.738 kg. 

Action is underway under VAT Act, in this regard, added the post.
