MUNSHIGANJ: Hundreds of passengers were stuck in a 13-kilometre tailback on Dhaka-Chittagong highway that ensued Friday (March 22) morning following two goods-laden vehicles went out of service on Meghna Bridge.
Our Munshigant correspondent reported that a 13 kilometers tailback stretched from east of Jamaldi bus stand to Boeshia Pakhir mor in Gozaria upazila around 11:30am.
Police also blamed girder construction in Kanchpur Bridge area and holiday rush for the overloaded highways, causing untold sufferings to Dhaka-bound passengers.
Highway police are trying to ease the tailback as early as possible, said Firoz, sub inspector of Bhoberchar highway police outpost.
