Journo Anwarul Haq passes away

DHAKA: Former president of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) and former chief reporter of The Daily Star M Anwarul Haq passed away at a city hospital on Friday (March 22) morning.

He suffered a stroke at his Dhanmondi residence around 5:00am and was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Anwarul Haq has been suffering from complicated diseases for long.

Anwarul Haq was the minister (Press) at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India.

He was the founding member of Diplomatic Correspondent’s Association, Bangladesh (DCAB).

He was survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Anwarul Haq’s namaz-e-janaza will be held after Jummah prayers at Sobhanbag Mosque and second janaza will be held at DRU around 3:00pm.
