SIRAJGANJ: A college student was killed as a covered-van hit him on under-construction Sirajganj-Nolka 4-lane Highway in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj early Thursday (March 21).

Two other pedestrians sustained injuries. 

The accident happened around 7:30am.

Deceased Hridoy, 17, studied at Dhukuria Technical College. 

Identities of the injured couldn’t be known immediately. They were taken to local hospital.

Witnesses said the chemical-laden van hit the trio leaving Hridoy dead on the spot in Bhodroghat area of Kamarkhand.

Angry locals set the van on fire and blocked the road.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze afterwards.
