DHAKA: A Dhaka court sentenced 15 persons to death on charge of killing a clothes trader in Dohar upazila of the capital city.

Besides, two others were handed over life in jail.

All of the 17 convicts were fined Tk 20,000 each. 

Judge Pradip Kumar Roy of Dhaka Additional Session Judge's Court 1 announced the verdict Wednesday (March 20). 

The 15 death row convicts are- Siraj alias Seru Karigor, Minhaz alais Minu, Khalil Karigor, Shahjahan Karigor, Kalu alias Kuti Karigor, Azhar Karigor, Miraj Uddin, Mozammel alias Suja, Jalal, Billal, Abdul Latif, Didar, Ershad, Abdul Jalil Karigor and Ibrahim. Four of them are absconding.

The life-term convicts—China Begum and Mojidul alias Majed are also absconding.
