GAIBANDHA:  A truck ran over schoolgirls, thereby killing one and injuring another in Sundarganj upazila of the district.

The accident happened at Chaitantola Shakhamara Bridge area under Sonaray union of the upazila around 9 am on Wednesday (March 20).

The deceased was identified as Sumi Akther, daughter of Abdul Gani, of the same union of Sundarganj upazila.

The injured Shahana, daughter of Shah Alam, and the deceased are 9th grade students of Monmohoni High School.

Two girls were cycling to a private tutor in the morning.  A truck ran over them at that time, Bamondanga police outpost in-charge Mahfujur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
