‘Drug dealer killed in Meherpur ‘shootout’ The body was taken on the police van.

MEHERPUR: A suspected drug dealer was killed in a shootout erupted among two groups of his fellows in Gangni upazila of Meherpur early Monday (Mar 18).

The deceased was identified as Budu, 35.

One kg hemp, 20 bottles phensedyl and a locally-made one-shooter gun were recovered from the spot. 

“We went to the spot after hearing sounds of firing and found Budu bullet-hit around 3:30am,” said Pirtola Police Outpost In-Charge Ajay Das.

Budu was taken to the upazila sadar hospital where the on-duty physician pronounced him dead.

The deceased was accused in some 6-7 cases filed under narcotics control act, said the police official.
