Man held with fake currency in Savar The detainee

ASHULIA (SAVAR): Police detained a man in possession of fake currency of Taka two lakhs from Ashulia area of the outskirts (Savar) of Dhaka city.

The detainee was identified as Rejaul Hossen, 43, son Munser Hossen, hailing from East Goyespur village under Gaibandha district Sadar.

Rizaul Haque Dipu, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, briefed media on Sunday (March 17).

Rejaul Hossen is mastermind behind production of fake currency. Cases were filed against him with various police stations on charges of fake currency production and its use, OC said.

With information obtained from him, efforts are being undertaken to seize the machine used for making fake currency, OC added.

A regular case will be filed in this connection, OC further said.
