NAOGAON: Three motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Manda upazila on Monday (Feb 18) afternoon. 

The deceased were identified as Selim Hossain, 32 son of Abed Ali of Kusumba village, and Shafiqul Islam, 40, son of Rafiqul Islam of Barilla village and Moslem Uddin, 41, son of Shukur Ali of Ramnagar village of the upazila.

A Rajshahi-bound BRTC bus hit the motorbike while it was crossing the Naogaon-Rajshahi Highway in Deluabari Bazar area, leaving one dead on the spot and injured two others, said  Mozaffar Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.

Shafiqul Islam died on way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and Moslem succumbed to his injuries at the hospital in the evening.

Angry locals torched the bus and caught its driver Kartik Chandra Das.

Later, the driver was handed over to police, the OC added.
