ABU DHABI (UNITED ARAB EMIRATES):  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday (February 17).

She joined the five-day exhibition at the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The event is being held, with the intention to draw government policy makers, military officials and defence specialists to discuss defence issues, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Upon her arrival at the exhibition center, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan greete the prime minister. 

IDEX is the only international defence exhibition and conference in the MENA region demonstrating the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defence.

IDEX is held in every two years since 1993.

More than 1,300 defence firms and entities are attending the defence exhibition.
