DU: Dhaka University (DU) authorities have imposed a ban on arrangement of programmes at Central Shaheed Minar from Monday ahead of the International Mother Language Day on February 21.

According to the decision of ‘Central Coordination Committee for Observing Amar Ekushey’ of the university, cleaning, painting and decoration works will start on the campus from Monday. So, none will be allowed to hold any programme there. 

As per the press release issued on Sunday (Feb 17), the DU requested everyone not to pest any kind of photo, poster or banner on the walls of the area to ensure beauty and sanctity of International Mother Language Day.
