KHULNA: At least 32 grenade-like substances were recovered from shrimp farm (gher) at a village under Laskar union in Paikgachha Upazila on Sunday (Feb 17). 

Workers found the substances while digging soil in the shrimp farm of one Abul Kalam of the Paikgachha village and later, locals informed police.

On information, a team of police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area, said Emdadul Sheikh, officer in charge of Paikgachha Police Station. 

Later, Police informed its Bomb Disposal Unit to recover the substances. 

Freedom Fighters might hide these grenade-like objects under the soil during liberation war in 1971, the OC added.
