Indian Air chief pays call on Bangladesh counterpart

DHAKA: The visiting chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa paid call on his Bangladesh counterpart Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat on Monday (Feb 11).

During the meeting at Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) headquarters, they both expressed hope that existing relations and mutual cooperation between air forces of Bangladesh and India will be strengthened. 

Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a press release.

Earlier, the Indian Air chief paid rich tributes to the martyred members of Bangladesh Armed Forces.

He placed wreaths at the Shikha Anirban (flame eternal) in Dhaka Cantonment this morning.

Later, a smartly turned out contingent of the Bangladesh Air Force presented a salute to him. Then he planted a sapling on the premises of BAF headquarters. 

Earlier on Sunday (Feb 10), Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa arrived here on a five-day visit at the invitation of Bangladesh Air Force Chief, according to a press release of Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

Marshal B S Dhanoa accompanied by his wife Kamalpreet Dhanoa and a two-member delegation. 

During the visit, the IAF chief will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said the release.

He is also expected to pay call on chiefs of Bangladesh’s three forces.  

Marshal B S Dhanoa is also scheduled to visit the airbase of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).
