The body was identified as Jubayer Hossain, 7, son of Shamsul Haque. He was a class-I student of Jalsuka Government Primary School in the area.

Aminur Islam, officer-in-charge of Saturia Police Station, said that Jubayer went missing from his house on Thursday noon. Later his body was recovered from a lemon orchard at their village.

A local, on the condition of anonymity, said Jubayer was abducted three days ago. Later, abductors demanded Tk 3 lakh ransom to Jabayer family over phone. 

Jubayer’s mother informed the matter to local police and went to Savar to hand over the ransom amount. She came back after waiting there for long as the abductors did not contact her.

Locals spotted the body in the orchard this morning and informed police.

The body was sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. 
Meanwhile, police arrested a person in this regard for interrogation, the OC added.
