DHAKA: A person suffered burns in a fire that broke out at shop in Bangabazar in the capital city on Saturday (Jan 19).

The fire originated at a Cock Sheet shop opposite to Anex Tower around 5:00pm, said Kamrul Hasan, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Being informed, 14 firefighting units rushed in and brought the blaze under control after 20 minutes’ effort, he added.

The injured Nurul Islam, 60, was taken to hospital, said Abul Hasan, officer in charge of Shahbagh Police Station. 

The face of the man was totally burned in the fire, he added.
