CHATTOGRAM: A five-member probe body has been formed to investigate into the cause of a huge fire that broke out at the warehouse of Victory Jute Mill in the port city.
The committee, lead by Additional district magistrate Muhammad Mashudul Kabir, has been asked to submit the report within seven days, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Habibur Rahman.
The other four members are-Assistant Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Pankaj Barua, Assistant Director of Fire Service Jasim Uddin, former director of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce Mahfuzul Huq Shah and Local Ward Councilor Nessar Uddin Ahmed Manju.
A massive fire broke out at the warehouse of plastic and electronics goods of Victory Jute Mill in the city, burning everything in its path on Friday (January 18).
The fire originated around 5 pm.
After a four-hour frantic effort, 15 vehicles of five fire fighting units doused the blaze around 9 pm.
