NOAKHALI: Two persons were killed as a bus fell into a roadside canal on Noakhali-Feni Regional Highway in Begumganj upazila Wednesday (Jan 16) night.

At least 20 others were injured.

Police couldn’t identify the victims immediately.

Locals said a bus of Feni-bound Sugandha Service fell into the canal after losing control, leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot around 10pm.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.

They were taken to various local hospitals.

Bodies of the two were recovered from the spot. Condition of several of the injured was critical, said Begumganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Feroz Alam.
