KHULNA: An order has come into effect on Tuesday (Jan 15) banning in and exit of battery-propelled easy-bikes in Khulna city area. 

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) staff and police jointly installed 8 makeshift check-posts around the city since 7am, to check the progress.

KCC Senior Licence Officer SKM Tasaduzzaman confirmed the matter to Banglanews, in the afternoon.

On May 11, 2016, the then divisional commissioner Md Abdus Samad held a meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office, to control easy-bike for ensuring smooth traffic in the city.

Later, another meeting chaired by former KCC mayor Moniruzzaman Monir finalized the decision to ban easy-bikes.
