DHAKA:   Outgoing ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Prof. Dr. Chop Lal Bhusal and his spouse paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office on Tuesday (January 15).

PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.

The ambassador said his country wants to import hydroelectricity from

Bangladesh. A proposal to import 500 MW power from Bangladesh will get priority in the coming business summit slated to be held in Nepal. 

Nepalese ambassador requested Sheikh Hasina to grant full time visa to about 4,000 Nepalese students who are now studying in Bangladesh. 

On the other hand, prime minister renewed her proposal to Nepal to use Syedpur Airport from which Nepal is only 20 minutes away by air.
