DHAKA: A 40-year-old woman allegedly took own life by cutting her throat at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) hospital.

She was identified as Lily, wife of one Rafiqul Islam from Karimganj of Kishoreganj.   

“Lily was a breast cancer patient. She was undergoing treatment at the cancer section of the hospital,” said Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasan.

The pain of decease might have led her to commit suicide, he said. 

The body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy. 

The incident is being investigated, added the OC.
