COX’S BAZAR: Sixteen people sustained burn injuries as a hydrogen gas cylinder exploded in Modhurchhara Rohingya camp in Ukhia of Cox’s Bazar early Saturday (Nov 17). 

Most of them are 10-15 years old.

Modhurchhara Rohingya Camp In-Charge (IC) Md Yasin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police and local sources said a Rohingya refugee sells toy balloon to the children at shelter homes. He carried a hydrogen gas cylinder to a plain by the feet of hills, for blowing up balloons, in the morning.  

Some 20-25 Rohingya adolescents gathered there. 

16 of them sustained burn injuries as the cylinder blasted.

They were admitted to hospital.
