DHAKA: Members of armed forces will be deployed countrywide within some two to ten days before the 11th parliamentary election slated to be held on Dec 30.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed made the disclosure while briefing the Assistant returning officers at the EC Bhaban in Agargaon Thursday (Nov 15).  

“Army will be deployed in pre-polls period—a week or ten days before the polls. BGB will be deployed (too). Therefore, all the preparations including measures for their stay have to be started from now on,” he said.

Assistant returning officers from Chittagong, Sylhet and Barisal divisions and ECs and other higher officials attended the briefing.
