COX’S BAZAR: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 2.30 lakh yaba pills from Saint Martin’s Island in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Coast Guard issued a press release singed by its assistant director (Detective) Lieutenant commander Abdullah Al Maruf on Wednesday noon (Nov 14).
According to the release, a team of Coast Guard conducted drive in Chera Dwip area and signaled a suspected fishing boat to halt. However, the boat quickly fled towards Myanmar after dropping three sack-packed bags.
Some 2.30 lakh pieces of yaba tablets worth Tk 11.50 crore were found inside the bags. The huge amount of seized narcotics will be handed over to Teknaf police.
