DHAKA: Law enforcers detained eight alleged operatives of “Neo JMB”, an ultra-radical offshoot of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen from Jatrabari area of Dhaka on Sunday night (Nov 11).

The detainees are identified as- Rakibul Hasan alias Ruhul alias Artrugul, Alamin, Hafiz Bhuiyan, Syed Zakaria, Jasim Uddin, Mizanur Rahman alias Sumon, Shah Alam alias Saifullah alias Shakib alias Abdus Salam and Milon Hossain alias Tapan.

Police also seized one pistol and three rounds of bullets.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman said detainee Rakibul Hasan is the husband of one Khadiza Parvin, who was recently detained in a anti-militant drive conducted in Narshingdi. Rakibul along with some his associates had been absconding.
