CHANDPUR: A district court has sentenced life term imprisonment to a father and his son for killing one Mostafa Kamal in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur.

Chandpur district and Sessions Judge Md Julfiqar Ali Khan passed the order on Sunday (Nov 11) with Tk 10,000 fine for each convicts.

The convicts are- Abu Taher, son of one Lutfur Rahman of Bhaterhad village of the upazila and his son Sohag.

The court also sentenced five years imprisonment to three other accused- Harun, Kashem and Abul Khayer- in the case with Tk 5,000 fine for each. 

According to case statement, the convicts hacked and injured a technician Mostafa Kamal, son of one Sirajul Islam, over a land related dispute on Oct 3 in 2014. He died on the next day while undergoing treatment at hospital. 

Victim’s uncle Nurul Islam filed a case with Faridganj police station.
