NARAYANGANJ: A police was shot by some unknown miscreants while conducting a search on a Borak Paribahan bus at Pagla Munshikhola check post of Fatullah town of the district on Tuesday (October 23).

The injured police constable Mohammad Sohel, working in district police lines, has been shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) from Khanpur 300-bed hospital.

Among three youths, who were seated in the back of the bus, aged 30-35, a youth pulled out a gun and shot at the left leg of the constable. They immediately fled the spot as it happened at 12:30 pm, according to Shah Md Manjur Kader, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station.

Police has launched its drive to detain 3 of them, OC added.

We could not chase them immediately after the incident, because we didn’t have arms. We assume that three of them had arms, said Morshed, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the check post.
