DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said the cabinet size would not be reduced ahead of the coming eleventh parliamentary election, if not needed.
Hasina made the remarks during a press briefing at the Ganabhaban on Monday.
Nayeemul Islam Khan, editor of Amader Notun Shomoy, asked the prime minister whether the cabinet would be reduced ahead of the election.
In response, the premier asked whether there would be any problem if the cabinet was not reduced.
Khan said that there were no constitutional barriers to keep the government unchanged.
She said: “Despite winning a majority, we formed a cabinet with representatives from the other parties…If the opposition demands, we will go for it. If they don’t we won’t have to.”
