BSF guns down Bangladeshi youth in Chapainawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ:  A Bangladeshi national was gunned down by Border Security Force (BSF) in Shibganj Upazila of the district on Sunday (October 22).

The deceased 30-yeard-old Jem, son of Abdul Hamid, hailed from Chouka border area under Mankosha union of the upazila.

A group of Bangladeshi cowherds intruded into Indian side to fetch cows via Chouka border area at dawn.  BSF camp members opened fire on them, injuring Jem. However, Jem’s companions managed to bring him to Bangladesh side. Later, he died at his home, quoting local sources.

BGB-53 captain Lt. Colonel Sajjad Sarwar told Banglanews that he was not informed about it, but will learn about it.
