CHITTAGONG: Two workers were killed after they had entered inhaling toxic gas in a WASA septic tank in Chittagong on Monday.

The incident took place at the WASA water treatment plant in Mudunaghat area under Hathazari Upazila.

The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam, 30, and Md Yusuf, 22.

Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost SI Alauddin Talukdar told Banglanews that they entered the tank this morning.

They fell unconscious due to the effects of Ammonia gas. They were rescued but declared dead when taken to CMCH, he added.
