Uttarkhan fire death toll reaches six

DHAKA: A 12-year-old boy succumbed to his burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Saturday night as a fire incident had taken place in the city’s Uttarkhan area on October 13.

With the death of Sagor, the death toll rose to six.

Sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police camp confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

The fire broke out at their ground-floor flat in a two-storey building around 4 am on October 13 following a leakage in the gas pipeline, leaving eight inmates injured.

Of the injured, Azizul and his wife Muslima alias Urmi, Purnima, Sufia, Dablu Mollah died in the DMCH earlier.

The rest of injured Anzu Ara, 25 and Shourav, 5 are undergoing treatment in the burn unit of the hospital.
